Motion Sensing Controllers For Xbox 360
May 13th, 2007 by Lance
One thing the Xbox 360 is missing that the other two next-gen consoles have going great for them is motion-sensing controllers. The Wii is based around it, and the PlayStation 3 has it sort of thrown in as an afterthought, but it’s there.
Who doesn’t want to play their favorite games by flailing their arms around like an idiot?
Well, it’s great to know that Team X-Tender has developed a tilt sensor that comes with an entire replacement for the back shell of your controller.
What’s an Xbox 360 owner to do? Heat up that old soldering iron, of course.
The XCM Best Tilt is a motion sensor that comes in the form of a replacement back panel for your controller. Pop your controller open, solder it in five places, pop the new back piece on, and you’ve got yourself a professional-looking motion-sensing controller. There’s an on and off switch to get the capabilities working, and it works with any game. Personally, I don’t find motion sensing all that exciting outside the walls of Wii Sports, and I’m far too lazy to do surgery on my expensive electronics, but for those of you out there with a bit more talent and ambition, go nuts.
It’s available for $40 and comes in white and black. See the video of the controller in action below.
